What's next for you...

Now you've emailed parents here's the next step...

Insurance

We strongly recommend you have comprehensive insurance in place to cover your residential visit with us. The Conway Centres do not provide personal accident or cancellation insurance for visiting groups. For adventurous activities there should be a minimum of 10 million public liability in place.

Coaches

We recommend booking your coaches as soon as possible. Depending on your visiting days we can look at speaking with any schools who are booked to see if a coach share may be more cost effective.

Risk Assessments

1. Schools/groups must complete a risk assessment before visits (per 1999 regulations).

2. Group Leaders must ensure risks are considered and precautions taken.

3. Assessments must cover: travel, accommodation, self-led & free time activities.

4. Visits require EVC/Evolve or local authority approval.

5. Help available via the Outdoor Education Advisors’ Panel website.

Frequently Asked Questions

Below is a list of our top 10 FAQ's

Can the centre provide risk assessments for specific activities?

We don’t generally provide Risk Assessments to school as we hold the LOtC Quality badge, when the provider holds the LOtC Quality Badge there is normally no need to seek further assurances from the provider about the safety of provision. This is outlined in the attached document.

Schools are informed in EVC training and via EVOLVE that they only need to provide Risk Assessments for activities that are self led by schools.

Can you send me room plans and room capacities?

All room plans are within STEP 1 in the important documents section

I have a diabetic student, can the centre staff carb count for them?

Yes our staff are fully trained and very experienced in this area. Our catering team will discuss this with you on arrival.

Can we come for a pre-visit?

Yes please email Conwaycentres@edsential.co.uk

Why do you need to know our gender splits so soon?

We ask for this information at the same time as your class lists and dietary information, at least 6 weeks before you visit. Getting all of this information at the same time reduces admin time for both parties and allows our team to fully prepare for your visit, including making beds for your arrival based on the gender split.

Do you make our beds for us?

A residential is a great chance for children to do things they may not have done at home yet, so if you would prefer they make their own beds please let us know.

What kind of activities do you do?

Our full range of activities are linked above. If you are interested in some thing that is not listed, please email conwaycentres@edsential.co.uk

When do we need to let you know final numbers to secure a refund?

Our T&Cs state that no refund can be issued within 90 days of a visit starting.

Can children attend for the day only?

Yes we can arrange this. Just get in touch before they visit so changes can be made to your invoicing.
