With over 45 years of experience, Conway Centres is the perfect place for schools and groups to come together and make life-long memories. Whether your child is visiting the stunning Anglesey coastline or the quaint Cheshire countryside - our centres are perfect for every child.

It may be your child's first ever residential or your child has visited us before, but rest assured we have everything in one place to ensure you and your child are fully prepared for the residential trip...

The Benefits of a Residential

A Conway Centres residential is more than a school trip – it’s a carefully designed experience that helps children and teenagers develop independence, build confidence, and form lasting friendships in a safe and supportive environment.

Here’s how your child benefits from a stay at Conway Centres:

Personal Growth and Independence

Residentials provide children with their first real taste of independence. From making their own bed to trying something new, children grow in confidence and resilience – key life skills that stay with them long after the trip ends.

Supports Learning Beyond the Classroom

Each programme is aligned with the school curriculum and tailored to your child’s age group. Activities encourage problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork – all while learning through doing in exciting real-world environments.

Builds Friendships and Social Skills

Living, learning, and exploring together helps children develop communication, empathy, and collaboration skills – important for their social development and mental wellbeing.

Safe, Trusted and Fully Supervised

Every activity at Conway Centres undergoes thorough risk assessments to ensure the highest safety standards. All sessions are led by fully qualified, experienced instructors, and your child will be carefully supervised at all times. Our staff are specially trained to prioritise your child’s wellbeing, creating a secure and supportive environment throughout their stay.

What to pack

To ensure your child has a comfortable and enjoyable stay, please pack suitable clothing for all weather conditions. This includes waterproof jackets, warm layers, sturdy shoes or wellies, and a change of clothes. If the weather is sunny, don’t forget sun protection such as a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Essentials like a water bottle and toiletries are also important, and a sleeping bag if required by the centre. There’s no need to bring specialist equipment—Conway Centres provide all necessary safety gear, including helmets, life jackets, wetsuits, and harnesses for activities. Our expert instructors ensure every child is fully equipped and safe, so packing the basics is all you need to do!

Airbnb

Looking for a family getaway that blends comfort, adventure, and the great outdoors? Our unique lodges in Delamere Forest and on the Isle of Anglesey offer the perfect base for weekend breaks, bank holidays, or school holiday escapes. Whether you’re after peaceful woodland walks, coastal adventures, or an accessible retreat for children with additional needs – there’s a stay to suit every family and budget.

We do not recommend that children bring any valuable items or electronics such as a phone. All groups leaders are encouraged to bring a duty phone with them, to allow contact with any participants should they need to during their stay on centre.

If for any reason you are unable to get hold of the group leader via this direct duty phone they may call the centre and relay a message.
