Based at our Conway Centres: Anglesey have an excellent range of facilities for Performing Arts and we offer high quality education aimed at encouraging creativity, providing opportunity & raising attainment.

Students will focus on key learning outcomes to develop their practical work and subject knowledge in composing, performing, listening and appraising. Under guidance and direction of practising musicians / leading music tutors, students will use both contemporary and traditional techniques to develop compositions, solo and group performances, and critical and contextual reference will be used to focus activities and ideas.

Both our fully qualified teaching staff and our associate artists have a significant breadth of specialist experience which allows them to engage students and inspire them to achieve to the best of their ability.

Desired Outcomes
  • An opportunity to work alongside nationally recognised subject specialists, practising musicians and subject leaders.
  • To allow students to work imaginatively and creatively in collaborative contexts generating, developing and communicating ideas whilst adding a significant body of work to the students’ coursework folders.
  • To encourage students to mix with other pupils and teachers from other schools to build confidence and develop networking skills in a positive, shared space.

Travel to centre

7.15pm Improvised Rhythm Session

8.00pm Performance / Q&A

9.00pm Students to school-specific study area to work with own teacher: course tutors to visit / support

10.30pm Students to own rooms

10.45pm Lights out and students checked by own teachers
Saturday
8.30am Breakfast
9.15am Session 1: Practical work and activity as directed by the tutor. Break time at the tutor’s discretion
12.30pm Lunch and shop / free time
1.30pm – 5.00pm Session 2: Practical work and activity as directed by the tutor. Break time at the tutor’s discretion
5.00pm – 5.45pm Vocal session – Chapel
6.00pm Evening Meal
7.00pm Performance / Q&A
8.00pm Students to school-specific study area to work with own teacher: course tutors to visit / support
10.30pm Students to own rooms
10.45pm Lights out and students checked by own teachers
Sunday
8.30am Breakfast
9.15am Session 3: Practical work and activity as directed by the tutor. Break time at the tutor’s discretion
11.45am Students share work? Chapel?
12.05pm All students and teachers meet for a final brief gathering to review weekend and listen to departure instructions
12.30pm Lunch
1.15pm All groups depart
