GCSE & BTEC Dance

Anglesey

Event: GCSE & BTEC Dance

Anglesey

Based at our Conway Centres: Anglesey we have an excellent range of facilities for both the Performing and Visual Arts. We offer high quality education aimed at encouraging creativity, providing opportunity & raising attainment.

The Key Stage 4 weekend is an intensive and exciting 3-day course incorporating relevant sessions in choreography and technique. The weekend aims to give students in depth knowledge and experience of the practical elements of the GCSE dance course (which can also be used for the BTEC course) and a practical exploration of one of the set works by professionals working for the Anthology dance company.

Within the weekend students will learn two of the AQA set phrases, workshop and develop ideas based on that year's choreography exam questions, develop a performance trio / duet and participate in an extended workshop with an Anthology company.

In 2023 this will be James Cousins company, where two dancers from the company will focus on the choreographic process, themes, ideas and movement content of Within Her Eyes.

Our team of teachers are all experienced GCSE dance teachers and in past years this course has proved to be invaluable to all GCSE dance students, either in their final exam year or starting their GCSE course. The course is a fantastic opportunity for networking and an amazing opportunity for CPD for new teachers or those wishing to refresh their knowledge of the components.
