WW2 Christmas at Tattenhall
Tattenahll
Experience first hand what it would be like at Christmas to live through Britain’s Home Front during WWII. Set in the historic village of Tattenhall with WW2 landmarks, stories and real life experiences at every turn. This day experience will allow children to learn through an immersive and active series of activities and workshops from the moment they arrive through to when they leave.
Here's what you'll get up to during your visit:
Arrive at the centre and be welcomed by our Evacuation Officer, Betty, who will guide you through an unforgettable WW2 Christmas experience. Begin with a fun drama activity, creating a short play about children’s lives during wartime in Tattenhall. Next, discover the secrets of a countryside WW2 menu with Betty, before enjoying a delicious, authentic wartime-inspired lunch prepared by our cooks. After lunch, step inside our replica Anderson shelter and meet John, our WW2 Warden and storyteller, for an immersive look into life during the Blitz. Finally, end the day with some festive wartime crafts, making a Christmas cracker and decoration from scrap paper—just as families did during the war.
